ABSTRACT
ANTI AGING: AN EXTENSIVE REVIEW
Suhail Khan, Sunil Jawla and *Seema Rohilla
Ageing is the gradual loss of collagen fibers and skin elasticity that occurs over time; wrinkles are one of the many signs of aging. The skin is the largest part of the human body and the outermost organ; it serves as our body's first line of defence. Skin aging is caused by two primary processes: extrinsic and intrinsic. Additionally, implicated is a stochastic process that suggests random cell damage brought on by mutations during metabolic processes brought on by the generation of free radicals. Environmental variables include smoking, alcohol misuse, air pollution, sun exposure, and poor diet all contribute to extrinsic aging. Time and genetic background are reflected in intrinsic aging. Smooth, thinning skin with prominent expression lines is one of the many manifestations of intrinsic aging. Numerous anti-aging techniques have been created in recent years due to the fact that skin health and beauty are seen to be among the primary variables representing general "well-being" and the perception of "health" in humans. This article aims to discuss about anti-aging and most significant anti-aging techniques now employed by dermatologists, including as preventive measures, cosmetic techniques, topical and systemic medicinal agents, and invasive procedures.
