Ayurveda, among the most ancient systems of medicine that originated in India, is distinguished by its holistic therapeutic approach and extensive use of polyherbal formulations. Classical Ayurvedic literature describes various pharmaceutical dosage forms, among which Panchavidha Kashaya Kalpana occupies a prominent position. Within this classification, Churna Kalpana—the powdered form of medicinal substances—is regarded as one of the most fundamental and widely practiced preparations. Owing to its simplicity of formulation, ease of administration, and versatility, Churna Kalpana is employed both as a standalone therapeutic agent and as a base material for more complex formulations. Traditional texts meticulously outline standardized methods for its preparation, along with guidelines concerning stability and shelf life. Furthermore, the utilization of medicinal herbs to promote and regulate digestive function has remained a central principle of Ayurvedic treatment since ancient times. Rasajanadi Churna, as described in Bhaishajya Ratnavali which is a notable example, composed of ingredients like Rasanjan, Shunthi, Prativisha, Dhataki, Kutaja. and is traditionally used in the treatment of Grahani (I.B.S).
